Combined Gross Written Premium (life and non-life) income reached IDR 1.7 Trillion up to 30 June 2008. Both general and life business reported a strong growth in business; Allianz Utama grew by 26% in GWP of the non life business while Allianz Life reported 30% increment in Annualized New Premium (ANP) of life business compared to the same period last year. Number of policies, combined, grew by 26%.
Despite some challenging market conditions, Allianz Life Indonesia’s new business premium increased by 30% from IDR 320 billion in semester I 2007 to IDR 417 billion within the same period this year with the total Gross Written Premium amounted to IDR 1.25 Trillion. “We still see a big demand for regular unit linked products, however, we also see a slow down on investment related single premium business,” said Jens Reisch, President Director of Allianz Life.
Allianz Utama also recorded significant increases in the number of policies issued by 32%, compared to the previous year to more than 64.400 policies and 19% growth in number of customers.
“We are committed to develop our retail business in order to strengthen our leading position in non-life market and also to balance our corporate business portfolio, in which Allianz Utama is well positioned already,” said Volker Miss, the President Director of Allianz Utama.
