Allianz Indonesia Officially Inaugurates the Allianz Tower

Jakarta, May 18, 2011

  • Homebase for nearly 1,000 staff and 300 agents

  • Offers new experience of One Stop Solutions for any insurance needs

  • Allianz Tower to support sustainable business growth.

Allianz Indonesia (Allianz Utama and Allianz Life Indonesia) inaugurated today its new Head Office, “Allianz Tower” in Jakarta. Mrs. Heidrun Tempel, Deputy to the Ambassador of Germany in Indonesia and Mr. Manuel Bauer, member of the Board of Allianz SE, responsible for Growth Markets, officially inaugurate the office in the presence of Allianz Indonesia’s partners. This is a new landmark for Allianz after its 30 years of presence in Indonesia.

“Indonesia is a fast growing market for the Allianz Group, we are proud to give such a visible proof of our long-term commitment to our Indonesian customers and partners," commented Manuel Bauer. "We want to provide the best service, that’s why we also want to provide the best work environment to our employees."

The organization of each floor was thought through in order to optimize work efficiency and service to the customer.

On the Ground Floor, the “Allianz Centre Jakarta” is dedicated to direct customers. They can find any insurance advice and solution, from motor insurance, to house or health solutions; from simple daily insurance issue to more complex situations.

The basement itself is a complete innovation. Policy holders will be able to send their car after an accident to the “Allianz Car Inspections Area”. There, experts of the Allianz motor claims team will help them file the claim and assess the damages.

Allianz Tower is the homebase for nearly 1,000 employees in Operations, Sales & Distributions, Market Management, Product Provider and Central Functions. 300 agency leaders and agents, out of its 14,000 network nationwide, will also have their offices in the Allianz Tower.

The Allianz University floor is a modern and comfortable training center for both employees and agents. It reflects the company’s commitment to human resources development, and capability building. An online licensing facility is also available for the agents willing to join the Allianz agents’ network. This floor is also equipped with nine meeting rooms for the convenience of customers and business partners when visiting Allianz.

“Combining the strength and expertise of both Allianz Utama Indonesia and Allianz Life Indonesia, we are able to offer all types of solutions to cater the customers’ needs. Our distribution network, Allianz licensed agents and brokers will also benefit from this new configuration. Coming to our Allianz Tower now enable them to discuss any lines of business that we provide in one stand,” said Joachim Wessling, CEO Allianz Life and Country Manager Allianz in Indonesia.

Allianz Indonesia has developed into a major player in insurance market in Indonesia. For the year 2010, combined Gross Written Premiums (GWP) grew a strong 31 percent to IDR 5.6 trillion. A significant increase of 40 percent was reported for the combined Profit Before Tax at IDR 335 billion (IDR 296 billion for Allianz Life and IDR 39 billion for Allianz Utama), compared to IDR 239 billion in 2009 with a combined Total Assets of more than IDR 12 trillion.

As for the first quarter 2011, growth momentum is strong at a pace of 49% increased in combined GWP compared to first quarter last year.

“We would like to express our gratitude for the trust of the nearly 1.8 million people we are insuring; for the strong support and hard work of all of our staff and all our business partners; and for our shareholders long-term commitment to our Indonesian operation. Moving forward, Allianz Indonesia will continue to strengthen its market position and further develop its customer base,” said Joachim Wessling.

“Product innovation, service quality improvements across both companies, continuous staff training and infrastructural enhancements will feature strongly in 2011. We will enhance our communication towards our customers by launching our new advertising “One Campaign” next month. We also committed to give deeper impact towards the society and environment through meaningful CSR activities like our latest Financial Literacy program that already run in 3 schools with our staff joining as Finance Coaches for the total 29 classes.” Joachim Wessling adds.
