Today, Allianz Utama Indonesia and Allianz Life Indonesia (Allianz Indonesia) launch the Yayasan Allianz Peduli. This follows various social activities and a successful start of a microinsurance program for low-income families. With Yayasan Allianz Peduli, Allianz Indonesia will further focus on sustainable community service programs aligned to its areas of expertise and business objective.
“Together, Allianz Indonesia offers a complete range of general, life, health, pension and sharia insurances with strong presence nationwide. This means that our staff, agents and business partners are uniquely equipped with skills and knowledge in risks management, financial planning and healthcare,” said Jens Reisch, CEO of Allianz Life Indonesia.
“Now, we are taking a step ahead in our social responsibility initiatives. We are committing ourselves in community service with our area of expertise in a long term and more sustainable way. It means that we want to utilize the skills and knowledge we have from our business to benefit the society with a strong support and engagement from our staff, agents and business partners in Indonesia,” explained Jens Reisch.
Community Engagement Program
Allianz Indonesia is currently supported by approximately 20,000 Allianz staff, agents and business partners. They will have the chance to be involved in this community service activity by participating in a company wide Community Engagement Program, which will enable staff and agents of Allianz in Indonesia to become volunteers for certain social works.
“We will introduce our special community engagement program, which will allow our staff, agents and business partners to get in touch with a school in their local community and teach a class of students, as an example. Of course, our volunteers will have to go through proper trainings before becoming a facilitator for a specific topic,” said Volker Miss, CEO of Allianz Utama Indonesia.
“Allianz is globally very committed to corporate responsibility activities. Our aim is to be recognized as the leading direct insurer by analysts when it comes to track the social and environmental performance of our company," said Dirk Reiche, who heads Allianz4Good, the Allianz Group’s international activities in CSR. “We fully support the launch of the Allianz Indonesia’s foundation, which utilizes its expertise and stakeholders involvement in a sustainable approach,” commented Dirk Reiche.
Yayasan Allianz Peduli launched
The community service programs for Allianz Indonesia staff, agents and business partners will be developed by the Yayasan Allianz Peduli, the companies’ social foundation. Yayasan Allianz Peduli is launched to act as the sole funder of Allianz Indonesia CSR activities in three key areas of education, healthcare, and humanitarian assistance.
In the Education area, Yayasan Allianz Peduli’s first project is to rebuild SDN37 Simpang Anduring elementary school in Padang, West Sumatra, which will be funded by donations from Allianz staff and agents in Indonesia, Taiwan and Germany, plus corporate donations from Allianz companies. In parallel with this project, Yayasan Allianz Peduli will develop sustainable disaster risk reduction and financial literacy programs for communities in high-risk areas and school children. Allianz Peduli will engage several partners for these programs. In the areas of Healthcare and Humanitarian, Yayasan Allianz Peduli will focus on regular blood drive activity and post disaster relief preparedness.
Starting this year onwards, both Allianz Utama and Allianz Life Indonesia commit to contribute a part of both companies’ net profit to support the Yayasan Allianz Peduli.
“Allianz Utama and Allianz Life Indonesia have committed to support Yayasan Allianz Peduli with a regular corporate funding scheme. This also reflects the strong commitment of our shareholders to support our CSR initiatives,” added Jens Reisch.
