
The Media Asuransi 2009 Insurance Award ceremony was held on June 11 at Gran Melia Hotel, Jakarta. Jens Reisch, the CEO of Allianz Life Indonesia received the award representing the company.
For this year award, the Media Asuransi’s research bureau categorized all contestants into four different categories, for both life and general (non-life) companies, based on equity; below IDR 50 billion, IDR 50 - 100 billion, IDR 100 – 250 billion and above IDR 250 billion. Allianz Life Indonesia won the 1st Best Insurance in the above IDR 250 billion equity category with Commonwealth Life (Indonesia) and AXA Mandiri Financial (Indonesia) Services as the 2nd and 3rd Best rank accordingly.
The award highlights the robust performance in profitability and premium growth, despite the challenging financial industry situation. Allianz Life recorded the highest profit growth of 201.88%, from IDR 42.5 billion in 2007 to IDR 128.3 billion in 2008 and was able to grow its premium income from IDR 2.73 trillion to IDR 2.89 trillion. In overall, these key indicators outperform other 44 life insurance companies in this assessment.

The year 2008 gave the highest profit achievement to Allianz Life Indonesia. This success was mainly attributed to our high quality and stable insurance solutions, particularly unit-linked regular premium as the backbone and best seller product thus also our strong and reliable agency and bancassurance distribution channels.
