Germany-based Allianz S.E. will be the lead liability and hull underwriter covering the world’s largest passenger jet – the Airbus 380 – when it is scheduled to enter service for Singapore Airlines in October.
Singapore Airlines recently renewed its liability and hull insurance, purchasing $ 2.25 billion of liability coverage and $275 million of hull coverage per aircraft, according to a market source.
The jet can accomodate up to 853 passenggers depending on its configuration. Airlines, though, are expected to configure the jet to carry around 500 passengers.
